Why doesn't my
number generate any words?
Some numbers just don't translate into much. 1 and 0 are
unmapped numbers, and incorporating two or more of these
numbers will usually mean no words are returned on numspell.
Why are there
so many different choices when I submit my number?
Certain numbers match up with numerous combinations.
NUMSpell's output will list words that are hidden in your
number. Some great words start at the second or third
digit - we list those too. You'll also find words that
have letters beyond the end of your number.
Can I add my
full Toll Free or personal number with the prefix included?
Certainly! In fact, you can enter the prefix or area
code before your telephone number. If you do, you'll get
more great answers back. Prefixes such as 800 or 888 don't
spell anything, and recall that a 0 or 1 do not have letters
associated with them on the standard Bell Telephone key
pad.
What about the
letter 'O' and the number '0'...
You would be surprised at how many times the letter 'O'
is substituted for the number '0', and vice versa. Often,
when there is a '0' (zero) in a Vanity number, the letter
'O' is mistakenly entered. Care must be taken when constructing
a Vanity number--- for yourself, your business, or a product---in
order to be consistent and clear as possible.
Telephone key
mapping and the missing letters ...
There have been many different variations of the telephone
keys and the mapping of letters to numbers over the years.
Presently, the U.S. and Canada are uniform, and each country
has their own conventions. This makes generalizations
difficult. While all letters have been used in the past,
some present-day keys do not include the letters 'Q' or
'Z'. NUMSpell allows you to access these letters by changing
the key assignments, though, a Vanity number should not
contain one of those letters.
